And, remote and online classes make it easy to achieve your goals from anywhere and at any time.

Apply for Credit Programs

  • Class Formats Offered at HCC

    HCC is offering a blended learning environment with four ways to learn:

    • Face-to-face: Classes will be 100% in person on campus. There may still be some online support for communication, assignments, and more. When on campus, masks are required indoors in all buildings and facilities.
    • Hybrid: Learnboth in person and online. These are courses that have been approved for some amount of face-to-face interaction on campus.When on campus, masks are required indoors in all buildings and facilities.
    • Scheduled remote: Meet at designated times in an online classroom. These courses will meet in real time, and at the times listed in the class schedule. Courses will be listed as Scheduled Zoom, Scheduled Blackboard, or Scheduled Canvas in the class schedule.
    • Flexible online: Study on your own time. These courses may or may not use Zoom, and recorded lectures are posted for students to watch on their own time. These courses still have due dates. Courses are listed in the schedule as Online.

Enrollment Steps for Credit Programs

Your application to HCC is just the first step. Follow this guide to the enrollment process and get there from here!

  • Step 1: Apply

    If you are not yet an HCC student, your first step is to apply. The link below will take you to our online application, where the first step is to create an account. Once you create an account, you can start the application.

  • Step 2: Take Placement Tests

    Once you've completed your application, the next step will be placement testing. Placement test results will help you select the right classes to start your college education. You may be exempt from placement tests based on your high school GPA, grades in previous classes, and scores from the SAT, ACT, GED or PARCC exams.

  • Step 3: Get Advised

    Meet with an advisor to determine your educational needs and goals, select your academic major and classes, and develop a plan for graduation and transfer. Think of your advisor as a go-to person for academic guidance throughout your time at HCC.

  • Step 4: Register for Classes

    Once you have completed your admissions & advising steps, you are ready to register for college classes!

    • Start by searching through available classes with our online course search tool.
    • Use Self Service in myHCC to plan, schedule, and register for classes.

    We're committed to helping students with the costs of college. By understanding your payment options and planning ahead, you can take advantage of early registration options to secure the classes and schedule you want.

Current HCC Students Applying to Nursing and Allied Health

Once you're a student at HCC, find out the distinct admissions requirements of your particular field of interest. Admission to the clinical component of allied health programs requires the successful completion of certain prerequisite courses. Always check first with an allied health advisor before taking a course elsewhere because it may not transfer  to HCC.

Register for noncredit classes

If you're interested in enhancing job skills or exploring a personal interest, sign up instead for one of our noncredit courses.There's no need to apply for noncredit classes. Continuing Education classes are offered throughout the county on days, evenings, and weekends. There are no grades or exams (except for licensure courses) – just learning and enjoyment.
